Gestures to switch interfaces are simple enough; placing five fingers on the screen opens the Acer Ring, a quick route to your software and apps; and two placing two palms on the screen brings up the virtual keyboard.

You can also customize gesture controls to launch specific apps, and open websites, etc using Acer’s included Gesture Editor.

Under the impressive displays the Inconia features an Intel Core i5 (480M / 560M / 580M) CPU, up to 4GB of DDR3 RAM, integrated Intel graphics with 128MB RAM) and either a 320/500/640 or 750GB hard drive.

Jim Wong Acer Inc. Vice President and ITGO President said that Acer’s recent venture into touch-screen technology showed a commitment that ‘no other PC vendor can compete with.’ Hopefully the company’s time and efforts have been put to good use otherwise a dual-screen multi-touch device with lots of software bugs could be more trouble than it’s worth. On the other hand, a user friendly interface and smooth smooth software could offer an experience twice the fun of the iPad (Noted, at twice the cost). and have the released dates pegged for mid January 2011 in the United States, and the UK, possibly even early in Europe. Most sources have the pricing between £1400 – £1500 ($2184 – $2340).
