@volleyball girl Not a war of weapons? What do you call Korea, Viet Nam, Chile, Nicaragua, El Salvador, Grenada, Bay of Pigs? The problem is that the war is misnamed. It was just a war of hidden hands. People didn’t say we were fighting the Soviets, but they weren’t shy about saying we were fighting communism in those places.

all of yall are wrong the reson why its cold the cold war is because there was no derect fighting it was a weapons race tech. race and a space race. the reson why we didnt fight isnt because we were afraid of fighting its because the soivet union didnt have the funding or resorses to fight after all it did start the year the WWII ended. the U.S. wanted to stop the spreed of communisim. the resson why we were making more atomic, hydrogen, and thremo nuclear weapons is to stay ahead of the S.U. passing us people were afraid because they know the devistation we did to japan and to the person who said we don't have no more nuclear weapons today YOU'RE WRONG look up the submerin Texas its a nuclear submerine and the term NUKE its not a refrens to any nuclear weapons it is an actaule missile weppon that makes the hydrogen bomb look like nothing hydrogen bomb is only a 10 mile radies for the actule explosen nuke is 50 to 100 miles radius if u think i dont know wat im talking about look up area 51 theres over 1000 miles blocked off its has alot of radetaion so we still have the nuclear weppons but its illeagal to use in war fair the only and i repeat ONLY time we can use it if someone else uses and that dusnt include dirty bombs (radeation bombs explostion takes out about 5 city blocks but radeation is up to 10 miles with no wind conditions) i know wat im talking about i got a dagree in history and weapons for curent time and WWII and cold war era .

These pictures do not and i repeate that these pictures do not look like they were from “The Cold War”.The cold war was a fight of words not of wapons and the reason for that was because the United States and the Soviet Union were to afraid of fighting each other directly.
