Highly Maneuverable DIY Drone

Check out this highly maneuverable DIY drone made by Daniel Mellinger, Dr. Nathan Michael, and Dr. Vijay Kumar at the GRASP Lab, University of Pennsylvania.

The quadrotor drone makes some impressive moves through some tight spaces, all with seemingly precision control. The demo is certainly an eye-opener as to how advanced the world of robotic drones is becoming. If this is the DIY UAV of today, imagine what military deployed drones are going to be like in the future…mind blowing stuff.

There isn’t much info about this agile little drone, however some bloggers have speculated that the flight was too precise to be live and was likely pre-programmed. Either way, there’s no doubt that this DIY UAV has a large repertoire of gravity-defying maneuvers.
