Kong Fanwen's new "No-key Keyboard" Concept

Designer Kong Fanwen has thrown tradition out of the window with his new “No-key Keyboard”. The new concept design opts for a glass base and snazzy lighting options to replace the keys.

The keyboard would use a camera and the “latest motion capture technology” to track your fingers movements and capture the right keystrokes.

Displaying the keys by means of light enables the user to type in dark or dimly light areas without straining the eyes and the complete glass design would also make the keyboard fully waterproof.

But whilst the design is certainly an eye catcher and a probably welcome addition if judged on looks alone, it may take sometime before the “No-key Keyboard” rises above the tried and true mechanism of typing.
