VIP Google Voice Account For US Military
Military service members get priority 24 hour Google Voice activation...
With Google being at the forefront of the Information Technology business, its ties with the military have inevitably grown. And now, Google are showing its appreciation by giving military personal VIP access to a new Google Voice account.
So if you have a .mil email address, you can head on over to the dedicated military sign-up page – https://services.google.com/fb/forms/googlevoicemilitary/ – once your account is set up, your invites will be sent within 24 hours. Once your family and friends have accepted your request, you will be able to start leaving and receiving messages from one another.
The move is intended to assist servicemen and women abroad that would otherwise have difficulty directly contacting family and friends.
Army SGT Dale Sweetnam explained on Google’s Official Blog:
When you deploy, your life is put on hold. While you live and work in a different world, everyone else moves on with life back home. Your family and friends keep moving, and this sometimes means it’s just not possible for them to stay awake until 2 a.m. to receive a phone call. Calling Iraq or Afghanistan is seldom an option.
Google Voice provides a solution to some of these problems. Service members can set up an account before they deploy. Or if they’re already deployed, families can now set up an account for their service member. Loved ones can call to leave messages throughout the day, and then when that service member visits an Internet trailer, all the messages are right there. It’s like a care package in audio form.
Anyone who has ever been stationed away from home will know how important it is to be able to contact loved ones back home, so its great to see Google supporting our service members, families of those who serve, and the friends who support them.
