JailBreakMe 2.0 For iPhone 4 And iPad

The iPhone Dev Team has released a new ‘one-click’ jail-breaking tool for the iPhone 4 and iPad that enables users to “run apps and use themes and tweaks not approved by Apple.”

The tools, known as JailBreakMe 2.0, can be accessed via the iPhones Safari browser by visiting jailbreakme.com. From there users can install the hack with one simple swipe of the device’s touch-screen.

JailbreakMe originally started life as simple web-based jail-breaking tool for the first iPhones. For obvious reasons Apple forced the site to close , but now thanks to the US Copyright Office’s recent ruling that says mobile phones can be legally hacked, the site is now back up and running.

JailbreakMe works on iPhones, iPads and iPod touches running iOS 4 and iOS 4.0.1, but is NOT compatible with devices running the iOS 4.1 beta. Some users have also reported that the hack causes problems with FaceTime and multimedia messaging functionality of the phone, but minor bugs aside the hack works as smooth as the original OS.

Unfortunately jail-breaking your iPhone does come at a price – it’ll void Apple’s warranty. Still there’s never been a better time to access all those apps not approved by Apple, especially with JailBreakMe’s one click installation.
