Japan Building Its Own Stealth Fighter

Japan have been lobbying to buy Lockheed Martins F-22 fighters, but while the deal is far from done, the country is taking the time to develop its own stealth fighter.

The Mitsubishi ATD X ShinShin Esub could be Japans new aviation warrior, if the deal with Lockheed Martin doesn’t go through that is.

The stealth fighter is in it’s early prototype stages, a full scale mock version for radar profiling, and an RC prototype are currently in test phase.

The introduction to the Mitsubishi ATD X ShinShin Esub shown on Japanese TV last week, does a fairly good job at demoing the aircraft’s stealth ability – it apparently shows up on radar as a group of insects or birds.
