Northrop Grumman MUVR VTOL Aircraft
First look at Northrop Grumman’s MUVR fan-in wing high-speed VTOL aircraft…
Northrop Grumman has unveiled the current design of its unmanned MUVR fan-in wing high-speed VTOL aircraft at last month’s Quad-A UAS in Washington.
Designed to resupply Navy ships, the MUVR will achieve its vertical takeoff and landing using a similar ducted-fan system to that employed by short-lived Ryan XV-5Vertiplane. The twin-boom ‘bronco’ tail is also reminiscent of the company’s Scaled Composites-designed Firebird MALE UAS demonstrator.

The engine seems to carry a cargo pod, which some reports suggest could carry a maximum payload of up to 10,000lb. Speed has been tipped at around 200kt. Other than that, there’s currently little else known about the craft.
