Panasonic Bone-Conducting Wireless Headphones
Panasonic unveils its new bone-conducting Bluetooth headphones...
Panasonic has announced its new bone-conducting wireless headphones, aimed at runners, cyclists and others who need to be mindful of ambient noises when listening to music.
Unveiled at CES, the RP-BTGS10 headphones work by sending sound waves though the cheek bone, ossicles, and cochlea and into the auditory nerve.
The buds sit comfortably on the cheeks, and are held in place by a plastic band that wraps around the back of the head similar to sports headphones. The ear-free design allows the listener to still hear other sounds, whilst listening to their favorite songs.
The RP-headphones feature Bluetooth for easy wireless connection to most devices, they also utilize the same bone conducting technology to incorporate a microphone, which allows the wearer to talk on the phone.
The Panasonic RP-BTGS10 will be available this fall in a variety of colors.
