Print From iPad iPhone Without AirPrint Printer

How to print from your iPad or iPhone without an AirPrint compatible printer…

Apple’s new AirPrint feature makes wireless printing a breeze, still if you don’t have an AirPrint compatible printer, you’ll find it difficult to wirelessly print those files stored on your iPad or iPhone.

Thankfully, there is a simple application that solves this problem, AirPrint Activator. AirPrint Activator can send your files to any printer on your network, no AirPrint compatibility required.

To do this you’ll need.

  • Mac OS X Snow Leopard 10.6.5
  • iTunes 10.1 (if you have neither, select the Apple icon in the upper-left corner of your screen and click “Software Updates” to download the latest software
  • AirPrint Activator

Once you’ve acquired the free AirPrint Activator application, the printing process is really straight forward.

  • First copy the AirPrint Activator files into you Applications folder
  • Launch the app and click the on button
  • Then enter your admin password
  • Navigate to the printer to wish to use
  • AirPrint Activator will then launch the Print and Fax utility in your Settings folder, and you should be able to start printing from here.
