Microsoft’s advanced version of the Wii, project Natal, looks set for release this 2010 holidays. For those of you that don’t already know, project Natal is Microsoft’s codename for an add-on peripheral that brings gesture controls to the Xbox.
Natal incorporates an RGB camera, depth sensor and multi-array microphone proprietary software to support full-body 3D motion capture, facial recognition, and voice recognition capabilities – eat your heart out Wii.
Although there are no exact dates, pricing or configurations, there have been numerous demo’s of the device. The company are also stressing that Natal will work with any Xbox, and with more than 39 million Xbox 360′s owned by gamers around the world, that’s a huge customer base.
