Sharp shooter machine gun for Sony PlayStation Move…

In hope to attract more hard-core gamers to its new PlayStation Move motion controller technology, Sony has unveiled a machine-gun peripheral dubbed the Sharp Shooter.

The gun-shaped attachment houses both Move controllers and adds a trigger, reload button, pump action, and an adjustable shoulder stock to the affair.

The Sharp Shooter has been designed to bring motion to platform and shoot’em up gamers who otherwise, may not have a use for such controller technology. And to usher in the new peripheral – which will cost $39 – it will be released on the same day as the highly anticipated Killzone:3 game in February 2011.

Sony said the peripheral will also work well with SOCOM 4: US Navy Seals, as well as other similar forth-coming releases.

In a recent blog post, Anand Argawal, Product Marketing Manager of Hardware at Sony, said:

“We know that some of you gamers might be a bit hesitant to put down the gamepad, but we believe the upcoming PlayStation Move Sharp Shooter will make motion control for shooter games quite irresistible.”
