The M-16 received a poor reputation in its early days because the Army kept using the same propellant in its ammo as for the M-14. Eugene Stoner knew this would cause problems. Once the propellant was changed to the designers specs, no more problem The M-16 is a good weapon, and probably the longest lived issue combat rifle by this point... We trained on A1s back in the '90s, The good old days!

You realize that you're implying that the FMG9 is an INFANTRY gun right? Might want to look up what an infantry weapon is before writing an article like this haha.

Magpul stated that they had no intention of manufacturing that folding submachine gun. The reason they decided to create it was to demonstrate that they had the capability to create useful products. It was a marketing ploy.

As for the SCAR, it isn't being used because it is an unnecessary expense. The M16 family of rifles is a perfectly good platform. People constantly talk about it jamming, as though that is a real problem. The troops love those weapons. They are easy to use, reliable, and effective weapons. This is why they AR-15 is such a popular civilian weapon.
