At present, celebrations of the Marine Corps Birthday on 10 November differ at posts and stations throughout the Corps. All commemorations include the reading of Marine Corps Order 47 and the Commandant’s Message to those assembled. Most commands hold a birthday ball of some sort, complete with pageant and cake ceremony as prescribed in the Marine Corps Manual.
Every year the Marines of NAS Whidbey Island hold a Marine Corps ball in November either the first or second weekend. It’s now gotten to the point where it is costing the Marines a lot of money to hold this event every year. Some might say well skip a year, well that’s not possible to do, and I say you are missing out on the significance of this event!
This is the one evening where every Marine, whether former, enlisted, or retired can get together and celebrate the history of the Marine Corps; honor those Marines who gave the ultimate sacrifice for our country as well as those who have; those that are currently serving our country.
The Marine Corps begins preparations for its “birthday party” every summer. Activities become more feverish as the fall hues arrives. This year I have stepped up to the plate and now am currently serving on the Marine Corps Ball Committee. I’m trying to make this event the best ever for the Marines that will be in attendance.
I am one of many Marines who have made the commitment to our country and the Corps to serve at any time I am needed. I am now asking for your help 800hightech.com! I need items to raffle off for the Marine Corps Ball, so that my fellow Marines and I can offset the cost of this year’s event. Whether it’s a PS3, Apple Mac book, Ipod, Camcorder, or a digital camera every little bit helps, and I’m 100% sure all the Marines new and old will greatly appreciate this!!
Once again I THANK YOU for YOUR support, prayers and for whatever you feel like donating even if it’s just a few kind words! Nonetheless, remember one thing remains constant, the tenth day of November! This unique holiday for warriors is a day of camaraderie, a day to honor Corps and Country. Throughout the world on 10 November, U.S. Marines celebrate the birth of their Corps — the most loyal, most feared, most revered, and most professional fighting force the world has ever known.

The Marines of Whidbey Island are ecstatic that 800hightech is willing to help with the fund raising for our Marine Corps Ball. 800hightech was the only company out of the four that we emailed that was willing to help us out! For this we salute you! While we were browsing the site we came up with these ideas:
We know some of these may not be feasible, but it’s worth a try!
Raffling of the items we receive will commence on 30 June 2008. So if acceptable we need the items no later than this 30 June.

I am writing to express my personal appreciation for you recent donations to the Marines of VAQ-129. The active support of the community and friends such as yourself helped us make this years Birthday Ball a success. The items you donated to raffle off were of high quality and created a lot of buzz!!
We are grateful for your generosity, and your commitment to our mission.
On behalf of the Marines of VAQ-129, we can’t thank you enough! I personally would highly recommend 800hightech to anyone! Thanks again for your generous gift.
Sincerely,
Sgt Rutland, K. C.
